CSLA Southern Section hosted an end-of-school year/beginning of summer boost of energy and fun member event:
“Viva La Social Media Revolución,” a webinar with world class Teacher Librarian Gwyneth Jones, on Monday, June 20, at 5PM – 6 PM PST. This webinar, free to all CSLA members and friends, was hosted by CSLA, Southern Section, Region 4.
Gwyneth shared how to “make a daring digital shift for your practice & the community. Having a web presence, keeping hip with cultural literacy, transliteracy, & building strong personal learning networks is not just an extra burden, but a necessity for the modern teacher librarian. It’s never too late to start...and it’s easier than you might think! Advocate for your program and profession by embracing change & the digital shift: Don't Hate - Appreciate! Viva la Revolucion!”
Gwyneth, aka The Daring Librarian, is a teacher librarian at Murray Hill Middle School in Laurel, Maryland, a blogger, a Tweeter (@gwynethjones), a public speaker, a citizen of Social Media, and a resident of Second Life. Gwyneth is a member of the ISTE Board of Directors, was named an Innovator and one of Library Journal’s Movers & Shakers 2011, and is the author of the award winning Daring Librarian blog (thedaringlibrarian.com), noted for its eye-popping graphics and lively commentary. She also admits to being a goofball and a geek.
